Frequently Asked Questions

Don’t be scared, the search for a wedding gown is unique, confusing and overwhelming, this is perfectly normal so don’t panic. Below is a list of common thoughts that will pop into your head, if you have any other questions then please get in touch.

How far in advance should I start the search for my gown?

This is so exciting! We recommend you start looking for your gown 12 months prior to your wedding date but you can start looking as soon as it feels right for you! Once your venue is chosen and booked, you will have an idea of the style you are looking for. Some people have 2 years, some just 6 months.

Please remember that dresses are made to order and there are lead times of 4 – 9 months depending on the designer. If you are short on time, do not worry, we are here to help and some styles can be sold from the rail or on a rush order, just get in touch and we can advise.

What price range is your collection?

Our full price gowns start from around £600 and go up to around £2000. Our separates are between £350 and £700 so there really is something for all budgets. We are very open about the prices, please let us know what price you are not comfortable spending over at your appointment and we can work with you.

What sizes are your sample gowns?

Our sizes range from a UK10-UK18 but do not worry if your size is not within this range as we are experts at styling dresses for all shapes and size.

Is there anything I need to bring with me for my appointment?

Just yourself and a smile is all you need! Don’t worry about having the right underwear or your wedding shoes, but please bring along if you will feel more comfortable. If you have any special accessories that you will definitely be wearing on the day such as family heirlooms, please bring them along to try with the dresses, plus we love to see them!

How many guests can I bring with me for my appointment?

We are a small boutique and recommend no more than 2 guests at your appointment, you can always return to show best friends or grannies for the final seal of approval if needed! I always think it is best to attend your first appointment with a good decision maker who really knows you, and then when you have chosen your final gown, bring the people that are going to cry the most! Please note there is no wheelchair access at the boutique but happy to video call everyone who cannot make it.

Are children allowed?

Of course, if you need or wish to bring your children then please do, I am sure they will be on their best behaviour! However we believe you should treat this day as a special occasion that you can give your full attention to, we want you to relax and feel pampered!

How long will my first appointment last?

Your private appointment lasts up to 2 hours but you are welcome to come again if you feel you need longer.

What should I expect at my appointment?

At Willow and Wilde we want you to have the best time possible so please relax and enjoy! We will chat about your wedding plans and your thoughts on the styles you are looking for. Once you have browsed the dresses, you can start to try on a selection of your choice and we will make suggestions as we get to know you more!
